How to mark a job as complete and get paid

How to mark a job as complete and get paid

Once you've finished the bond clean and uploaded before/after photos, you mark the job complete in Bond Back. Payment is released after the lister approves the completion.

    Steps to mark complete

    1. Finish the clean to the agreed standard (and any checklist the lister provided).
    2. Upload before/after photos in the job — see How to upload before/after photos correctly for what to capture.
    3. In the job page, find Mark job complete (or Complete job).
    4. Click it and confirm. The lister is notified that the job is complete and can inspect and approve.

    What happens next

    • The lister (or their property manager) inspects the property. If they're satisfied, they approve completion in Bond Back.
    • When they approve, funds are released from escrow to you. The Service Fee is deducted; you receive the rest (see When and how do I get paid as a cleaner? and What is the Service Fee?).
    • If the lister has concerns, they may message you to request touch-ups. Resolve those before they approve. If you can't agree, either party can open a dispute.

    Getting paid

    • Payout timing depends on Bond Back's payment setup (e.g. bank transfer, Stripe). Check your account or payments section for payout schedule and method.
    • Tip: Upload clear photos and communicate with the lister so they're confident approving quickly. Fast approval means faster payment.

    If the lister doesn't approve

    • Don't panic. They might need time to inspect or want a small fix. Reply to messages promptly and offer to fix any specific issues.
    • If they open a dispute, Bond Back will review photos and messages. Providing clear before/after evidence and staying professional usually leads to a fair outcome.
